Step by Step: Crepe Paper Flowers with Candy Centers
Today I’m going to show you how to make crepe paper flowers with Hershey’s Kisses as the centers. These are such fun flowers to make because they are beautiful and, well, CHOCOLATE. They are a perfect handmade gift for a friend’s birthday, for Mother’s Day, for graduation… or just because!
If you haven’t tried making crepe paper flowers before, they are so much fun. The delicate texture of the crepe paper makes for really beautiful flowers and the paper can be easily shaped into realistic petal shapes.
To make Hershey’s Kiss crepe paper flowers, you will need the following supplies:
Materials Needed
- Party Streamers (Assorted Colors)
- 18 Gauge Stem Wire
- Hershey’s Kisses
- Clear Tape
- Hot Glue Gun + Hot Glue
- Scissors
- Wire Cutters, Optional
Instructions
Step 1: Tape the flat bottoms of two Hershey’s Kisses together.
Step 2: Cut a piece of stem wire in half with wire cutters, then attach it to one end of the Hershey’s Kisses with lots of tape. Make sure to wrap the tape tightly to keep that stem nice and snug.
Step 3: Cut the crepe paper into squares (about 12 per flower) then round off two corners to form flower petals.
Step 4: Scrunch the petals together along the flat bottom edge, then glue them all around the Hershey’s Kisses, overlapping each petal slightly at the bottom.
Step 5: Cut green leaves from crepe paper and add them along the bottom of the flower to finish them off neatly. I added three leaves per flower, but you can do whatever you think looks nice.
And there you have it! Aren’t they so pretty?! I really love how they turned out and the only problem is now I don’t ever want to ruin them by eating the chocolate. LOL.
